Scholarships in the amount of $500 were awarded by the Flathead County Democratic Women to five graduating Flathead County high school seniors. Those receiving scholarships were Delaney Wirtala from Glacier High, Brooklyn Lamers from Glacier High, Belleza Skye Goodson from Bigfork High, Amann Koch-Ford from Whitefish High, and Corie Anderson from the Linderman Education Center. Delaney and Brooklyn knocked on doors for Jon Tester along with being very involved in speech and debate and band. Ammannis going to be an environmental scientist or educator.Belleza amazed us with her community service. She spent over 100 hours volunteering at the Flathead County Library in Bigfork, over 50 hours at the animal Flathead County Animal Shelter, and over 50 hours helping with the Summit’s Fun Run in June. Corie Anderson’s main goal is to further her education as she realized that her jobs while in high school would not support her and a college degree was a necessity to a happy life.
